5 Seconds of Summer Proves They Can Stand on Their Own

5 Seconds Of Summer Perform At The Forum
5 Seconds of Summer can now say they've sold out an arena all on their own (without the help of One Direction). The four-piece pop rock band played two arena shows in the Los Angeles, Calif. area on Nov. 15 and 16 at The Forum. Around 15,000 fans packed the venue to see band members Luke Hemmings, Ashton Irwin, Michael Clifford and Calum Hood take the stage, marking their first ever sold-out arena shows.

5SOS got their start opening for 1D at arenas and stadiums on tour the last two summers. After two years of opening for 1D, 5SOS is used to playing arenas. However, can they handle headlining an arena and entertaining a crowd for more than 45 minutes, all by themselves?

5SOS proved they could do just that. The crowd at The Forum was never off their feet and the band's playful stage banter kept the some 15,000 screaming girls entertained for the entire hour and half long set.

The whole crowd knew all the words to every song, including the band's cover of Green Day's "American Idiot." And while 1D might have introduced fans to 5SOS, these ladies were there to see Luke, Michael, Calum and Ashton. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and banana costumes were dispersed throughout the crowd, proving that these girls were true members of the #5SOSFAM and in on all the 5SOS inside jokes.

The band also proved they've mastered stage playfulness and banter. Ashton and Michael seemed to have the most personality out of the group, often speaking up and talking to the crowd during the show. However, all of the guys took turns thanking the audience for coming and reiterating what a big deal these two arena shows were for the group. In addition to playful stage antics, 5SOS followed 1D's lead with some pretty crazy pyrotechnics and fireworks.

The show was amazing! 5SOS killed it. Plus, one thing was finally clear: 5SOS's sound is completely different than One Direction's. 1D is a pop boy band, while 5SOS is a pop rock band whose punk-influenced sound is similar to Blink-182 or All Time Low. This begs the question; will pop punk finally make a comeback thanks to 5SOS? We hope more bands like 5SOS start skyrocketing to superstar status.

Girls Who Code Run the World: Meet 18-Year-Old Lily Yuan

This "presented by" post is one in our five-part Girls Who Code Run the World series - spotlighting young women who are helping redefine the way we think about women as builders.

This summer Cambio partnered with Girls Who Code, an innovative organization actively increasing the number of girls exposed to careers in the technology fields. Five graduates of the program are interning at Cambio, and they helped us relaunch the site - building new features and putting their stamp on the content - creating a destination that not only entertains but also empowers young women. We're thrilled to introduce you to these remarkable girls.

Lily Yuan, 18, is a biomedical engineering student from Flushing, New York who embodies the growing #BUILTBYGIRLS movement. She's passionate about coding, but she also loves clothes and fashion and she's not immune to the occasional fangirl moment over one of her favorite celebs. Here, Lily talks about her experience interning at Cambio and creating a product that she and her friends will be able to share.

Cambio: What are you most excited about working on at Cambio?

Lily: The [Celebspiration] meme generator. You generate a meme based on your favorite celebrity or topic and a quote from that celebrity. It's so interesting working on the front end development and working with the HTML and CSS to make that website page look good and functional.

Cambio: Do you share memes with your friends?

Lily: I use Imgur, which is an image hosting website, and we frequently share memes and things back and forth from Imgur.

Cambio: What do you hope to achieve by the end of this program at Cambio?

Lily: I hope to make a really amazing meme generator that works and looks great and people are excited to use.

Cambio: Which woman inspires you the most and why?

Lily: The woman that inspires me the most is my mother. She's so hard working. She came to America without that much knowledge or money or anything, but she built a life for herself and she gave me a better life than she had.

Cambio: What empowers you?

Lily: It's going to sound really girly, but honestly, clothes. How you wear things really influences how people look at you and I think that helps empower me. If I feel good in the outfit I'm wearing, I feel good and I feel empowered. Brightly colored things just empower me, because they stand out a lot. Like right now I'm wearing bright orange shoes. They're amazing shoes, and they just make me happy.

Cambio: What do you think girls care about reading on a site like Cambio.com?

Lily: I think they care about what's happening in the world around them - because when you're a teen you see your own world, but it's interesting to know what happens elsewhere, and it's like a way of escaping from your world for a little bit.

Cambio: Who's your favorite celebrity?

Lily: My favorite celebrity is Benedict Cumberbatch, and that's because he's amazing in Sherlock. Sherlock is a really quick-talking character, and the way that he is able to learn his lines and present them in such an accurate manner is just amazing.

Cambio: Speaking of celebrities, what was it like interviewing Gregg Sulkin?

Lily: Gregg was really charming, and he answered all of our questions. I found out he has a prominent British accent, but he can do an American accent really well because he plays a lot of American characters, so I asked him to demonstrate that accent switching and that was really interesting.

(Check out Lily and her fellow interns' interview with Gregg Sulkin, pictured above)

Cambio: Were you nervous to do the interview?

Lily: I was terrified and I really didn't even want to ask the question! I was like, "I'll give it to Nikki," but at the end I said, "I just do it! I'll just see what happens."

Cambio: Can you tell us about your final project at Girls Who Code?

Lily: For our final project, my partner and I worked with Arduinos, which are these really small computer things, and we programmed them to do a physical function. So what we did is we got a distance censor, we attached it the Arduino and we programmed it so our distance corresponded with a pitch. When you moved your hand away from and close to the sensor on the Arduino, it would make different sounds to make music.

Cambio: What does #BUILTBYGIRLS mean to you?

Lily: #BuiltByGirls is just a way of expressing that girls can build these things, too. Like, "Look at what I can do and it's just as amazing what you can do." And to just show and express yourself and be proud of what you're doing.

Nash Grier, Cameron Dallas, Jack and Jack Spill on their Holiday Splurges

DigiTour Presents
The biggest names in social media, including Nash Grier and Cameron Dallas, flocked to The Grove in Los Angeles, Calif. for the premiere of Viners and musicians Jack Gilinsky and Jack Jonhson's DigiTour documentary Jack and Jack: The Movie. The film covers the 18-city, 21-day tour that Jack and Jack went on last summer and gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the social media stars' lives at home and on the road.

"Our fans will definitely love it," said Jack J. "They'll see a whole different side of us, I think."

"You saw what we were like on stage and stuff, but now you can see what we're like when we're chillin in the bus. We didn't watch the final cut, just because because we were like , 'We gotta see it live,' but we watched it along the way and watched it grow," said Jack G. "It's gonna be awesome."

The tour documentary is available to pre-order online just in time for the holidays. We talked to Jack and Jack, plus Nash and Cameron, about what they're most looking forward to this holiday season. Suprisingly, these newly-crowned social media stars are more excited to give presents than receive them this year. (And they're doing some serious splurging on these gifts.)

"I don't know if I'm going to do this yet, so I'm not going to confirm this, but I want to get a horse for my little sister," said Nash. (OMG! What little girl doesn't want a pony?)

"So my mom's birthday is on Dec. 7 and I got her a new Mercedes," said Cameron. "And she has an iPhone 4, so for Christmas I'm going to get her an iPhone 6."

"I'm really excited, because I have never had a job before and I've never made any money, and now that like I have a little bit of money, I can spend it on my beautiful sisters and my parents. I'm just excited to see their faces with whatever I get them. It won't be like too fancy, but something cool that they deserve," said Jack G. "They always treated me to something cool, so it's my turn to give back."

All of the guys are also looking forward to heading home for the holidays. Jack and Jack gave us the inside scoop on their first big hometown show in Omaha, Nebra. on Dec. 20. The venue holds 3,500 people and they're hoping to sell it out.

"We're really excited about it," said Jack G. "We've never done a show in our hometown and a lot of our friends and family are going to come out."

The guys say this show will be different than any show they've ever played. Unlike their previous tour that included funny skits and games, this show will be all about the music.

"We're going to have a live band actually in this one, as opposed to our whole tour that we just went on. It's going to be different and I think people, like music lovers, are going to like it more for that reason," said Jack J. "I think it's going to help us draw in a bigger audience."

"It's totally different than what we've done," said Jack G. "We've done like track music and obviously half music, half joking around stuff, so this is all music."

2015 is right around the corner, so what can fans expect from "The Jacks," Nash and Cameron in the coming year?

"So much music, so many music videos. A lot of collaborations, both on YouTube, Vine and also on iTunes," said Jack G. "We're really excited to release new stuff."

The guys promised they'll also be heading out on an international tour. They don't know the dates or cities, yet, but they said they'd love to visit the UK, Brazil, Mexico and Spain, just to name a few.

"[Spain] always gets us to No. 1 on the [iTunes] charts," said Jack G. "They're loyal as h**l, so we've gotta treat them to a show."

Nash and Cameron revealed they're also going on an international tour next year. Plus, they're even working on a new movie together in 2015.

"We're so excited we're filming a movie," said Nash. "We're filming a project together and then after that project's done we're planning on going on tour."

Nash and Cameron definitely sound stoked to do more acting in 2015. Cameron even landed an upcoming guest star role on an NBC show. Both Nash and Cameron said they love acting, but their ultimate goal is to just keep on entertaining their followers and audiences in any way they can.

"We want to be entertainers, we don't want to limit ourselves to being actors," said Cameron. "If we can put a dope track out or something like that, that'd be awesome."

Arrow's Brandon Routh Wasn't Always a Comic Book Fan: Find Out Where His "Geekdom" Lived

Crackle's
Brandon Routh plays Ray Palmer on The CW's Arrow, a TV series based on the story of DC Comics character Green Arrow. We talked to Brandon about the show, his holiday plans and what he'll be up to in 2015.

Cambio: Why do you think fans have responded so well to Arrow and it's developed such a following?
Brandon: I think it's a really well done comic-based television show, which there have not been. There has not been one like it because it's much grittier and more real than anything that's come before it, at least anything that's been sustained, I think. The work of the actors is also a large part of that. Stephen Amell does a fantastic job of grounding the show with his presence as Arrow and everyone else helps make the show really work. As well as the action and the stunts being done really well, too.

C: Are you a comic book fan?
B: I've become a little bit more of a comic book fan over the years of being immersed in the world of the characters that I play, but I didn't grow up a comic book fan. (Brandon has acted in four comic book properties, including playing Superman in Superman Returns.) I was more of a fan of fantasy stuff, so Lord of the Rings type [stuff] was where my 'geekdom' lived.

C: How would you describe your character Ray Palmer on Arrow?
B: Ray Palmer is an inventor, a business man, a kind of dreamer. And he's taken over Queen Consolidated, the Arrow queen's company and kind of insinuated himself into the city and a position of power. He's a dreamer and a little bit quirky.

C: What can fans expect coming up from Ray on Arrow?
B: The last we saw him with Felicity, Emily Bett Rickards' character, they had a kiss and he kind of walked away without explanation, so we get a little bit of look into why he abruptly left.
Crab Cake 2014 Presented By S. Pellegrino & Samsung Galaxy(Brandon with wife, actress Courtney Ford, and their son, Leo James Routh.)

C: You're originally from Iowa. How did you first get into acting?
B: I was going to college at the University of Iowa and just started looking into acting and modeling locally to make money as a poor college student, which lead me to this big convention thing in New York called IMTA. I went there and met an agent and manager for acting and modeling, and that kind of got me out of Iowa on my journey to Los Angeles. The modeling thing never panned out and the acting thing did, thankfully.

C: The holidays are coming up. What are your holiday plans?
B: My family's coming out from Iowa, so they're kind of bringing Christmas to us in a way. We won't get as much snow, but maybe we'll hop up to Big Bear or a couple of the surrounding snowy areas. My son is now a little over 2, and last year we were in Iowa for Christmas and we did a little sledding before he really understood what it was and now he really knows what it is and he says, 'It's not Christmas yet because there's no snow,' so we'll have to show him some snow since we're not going back to Iowa where my parents are. The whole Santa thing is kind of beginning to become something, but it's mostly just all about the snow and he's got an infatuation with Rudolph, because he likes animals.

C: What's your favorite holiday family tradition?
B: My mom, every year, makes something called a tea ring. It's not really my tradition, I just eat them, but she makes them every year it's kind of like a cinnamon roll, but made in a ring. It's a bunch of them made in a ring. They're very good and now I've turned my mom into getting gung-ho on more of a Paleo diet and we don't really do gluten anymore, so we'll have to figure out some way to do it this year which will be interesting...a gluten free tea ring.

C: What's coming up for you in 2015?
B: I have a movie coming out called 400 Days sometime in the early party of the year with another cast member from Arrow, Caity Lotz, and Tom Cavanagh from The Flash. It's a sci-fi, space thriller action movie.

Watch Arrow on Wednesdays at 8/7C on The CW.

Selfie Queen Kylie Jenner is a fashion designer with sister Kendall Jenner, but now she's started a serious beauty trend. #KylieJennerLips are sweeping girl nation, as Instagrammers everywhere are copying Kylie's sultry, pouty look.

At first, some suspected that lip injections were responsible for the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star's fuller pout. However, Kylie's makeup artist Rob Scheppy says all it takes to achieve this picture-perfect look is a little smoke and mirrors (translation: liner and lip balm).

"Kylie's lips are created using expertly applied lip liner and a little lip balm," Rob told FEMAIL. "Like all magic tricks you need the illusion for the trick to work but I can say that...less is more and more is less, more or less." Hmm, sounds like Rob is trying to keep part of the trick up his sleeve.

But don't worry. You don't need an expert celebrity makeup artist to achieve Kylie's flawless lips. We found three of the best #KylieJennerLips tutorials on YouTube that give step-by-step instructions on how to create Kylie's full, luscious lips yourself.

1. Kaushal Beauty

British beauty guru Kaushal used Rimmel London Lip Liner in Eastend Snob and Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in both Sultry and Shameless, plus some Kevyn Aucoin highlight, to make her #KylieLips full and pouty.

2. Kandee Johnson

Makeup artist Kandee is a pro at transforming herself into celebrities. For this look, she used a MAC Lip Pencil in Soar and Makeup Forever Aqua Lip Liner in 5C, but said you could also use Revlon Colorstay Lip Liner in Nude or NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Mauve.

3. Megan and Liz

Megan and Liz aren't just country singers, they also make fabulous beauty tutorial videos. Liz Mace used a NYX Slim Lip Pencil, Revlon Colorstay Lip Liner and NYX Matte Lipstick in Natural to achieve her full #KylieLips.

YouTubers Interview President Obama: He Reveals His Ideal Super Power

Internet and political history was made today. YouTube stars Hank Green, Bethany Mota and GloZell Green each got to sit down and talk with President Barack Obama for a special live stream event, "The YouTube Interview with President Obama," at The White House.

The prez discussed topics that particularly affect young people, including his goals of two years free community college and a higher minimum wage, plus the importance of a free, open Internet. He also answered questions regarding numerous topics from his State of the Union address earlier this week.

However, the interview wasn't all serious business. Bethany played a fun "lighting round" with the president, asking him questions submitted by her fans. Obama revealed he likes to watch SportsCenter in his free time, he wanted to be an architect growing up or an NBA player and if he could have one super power, it'd be to fly or be able to speak every language.

GloZell even gave Obama a special present, matching green lipstick for First Lady Michelle Obama and the first daughters. "I'm going to ask Michelle to try it on, maybe tonight," said Obama. LOL! Plus, he posed for a selfie with the group.
While interviewing the president was an amazing opportunity for these three YouTube creators, Obama stressed that this was also an important chance for him to reach these social media stars' young audiences and talk to them about what the government does.

Check out the full interview video below.

9 Prom Dress Do's and Don'ts

$
0

prom dressesSpring semester is here, and that means that prom is already in the air. When it comes to prom, there are many things to worry about, from finding a date to mutually agreeing with your friends on a place to eat. (The latter sounds way easier than it actually is.) However, one thing shines brighter - and frequently beaded - than all others in importance: finding a prom dress.

Prom is one of the few times in your semi-adult life you get to wear a bedazzled, sparkly Cinderella gown and it's totally acceptable, unless you want to be Miss America or live out my personal childhood dream of being a princess at Disneyland. So, take advantage of it! This is your moment to shine. Check out our 'dos and don'ts of finding the perfect prom dress below.

Do: Think about what colors look best with your skin tone. Not sure? This quick quiz can help. Tip: Jewel tones like sapphire and amethyst look amazing on everyone and great on camera.

Do: Stick to solid colors and stay away from crazy patterns. Wild patterns can look totes amaze in person, but they don't always photograph well. (We know prom is really all about the Instagram pics.)

Do: Focus on fit. It's everything! If a dress fits you well, you'll feel as confident and fabulous as you are. A dress that's too tight doesn't equal a fun night. You want to actually be able to bust some serious dance moves in your dress...it is PROM, after all.

Do: Remember that if a dress doesn't fit you perfectly or is too long, you can always get it altered. (I'm kind of short, so I always have to get formal dresses hemmed.) Use Yelp to shop around for inexpensive, but reliable tailors.

Do: Start looking early. You don't want to be scrambling to find a dress and get it altered, if necessary, the weekend before prom.

Teenagers (15-18) in formalwear dancing at prom, arms raisedDon't: Limit your options. You don't have to find your dress at the mall. Bridal stores, pageant dress stores and boutiques all sell amazing, unique prom dresses. You might even find a diamond in the rough at a vintage store.

Don't: Think you have to break into your college fund to buy a fabulous dress. (My junior year, I paid hundreds for a dress I bought at a bridal shop and had altered down five sizes to fit me. It was way more trouble than it was worth. But my senior year, I paid around $75 for a dress I bought off the rack at a department store and loved it!)

Don't: Worry about having a date. If you have a date, cool. If you don't, no problem. Just go with friends and have fun.

Don't: Hop on the crazy trend train unless you're fully committed to your family showing off photos of you in a cut-out, backless, zebra-print dress for years to come.

12-Year-Old Skylar Stecker is a 'Firecracker' with a Seriously Big Voice

Skylar Stecker is 12-year-old girl who loves Instagram, is majorly crushing on Nick Jonas and describes herself as fun, crazy and energetic. But when she opens her mouth to sing (or even just for an interview), she definitely doesn't sound like a typical 12-year-old. This preteen with a big voice writes her own songs, plays piano and is getting ready to release her first EP called Firecracker on Jan. 27.

You'd think most 12-year-old singers look up to pop stars like Selena Gomez or Taylor Swift for inspiration, but soulful Skylar names Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Bruno Mars and Christina Aguilera as her biggest musical inspirations. That's probably because she describes her sound as pop with an "urban, R&B flare."

Skylar first discovered her major pipes when she was 9 years old, even though she started playing piano at an earlier age.

"I signed myself up for a school talent show to play the piano, but when I went in to audition they had me sing instead and I was totally unprepared. I didn't know what I was going to do, because at that point I didn't think I could sing," said Skylar. "So, I ended up singing and I found out a week later that I got in for singing and not the piano."

Skylar says she tries to write songs that she feels other girls her age will relate to, whether they be about her experiences or things that have happened to her friends. She's now releasing her first EP and has a single, "Rooftop," playing on Radio Disney.

Check out more of our Q&A with Skylar below.

Pre-Teen Singer/Songwriter Skylar Stecker Performs At Santa Monica PlaceCambio: If you could open for any muisican, who would it be and why?
Skylar: I would probably open up for someone like Beyonce or Bruno Mars, just because those people are like my biggest inspirations and I think it would be so cool to be on tour with them and learn from them.

Cambio: What's your favorite song right now?
Skylar: "Jealous" by Nick Jonas. I'm obsessed with that song. Whenever somebody asks, 'Who's your celebrity crush?' I'm like, 'Nick Jonas.' I really like how he came back in the music industry as a solo artist.

Cambio: What's your favorite song on your EP, Firecracker?
Skylar: I like "Firecracker" and I really like "Rooftop." "Firecracker" is a lot of fun. It's just one of those songs where you can like let loose and relate to it, because everyone has a fun, energetic, crazy side to them. I think a lot of times people are scared to let it shine through, so it's a really fun song where you can let loose.

Cambio: How do you hope to inspire other young girls?
Skylar: My goal is to help them feel more comfortable with themselves or understand that being yourself is the best thing you can be.

Cambio: What's your best advice for girls who want to follow their dreams?
Skylar: My advice is just to be yourself, stay to true to you and work really hard, because if you work really hard and you love doing something, everything will pay off and you will be successful. I just want people to know whatever they set there mind to they can do if they just focus and really believe in themselves.

In 2015, Skylar says she hopes to get as many people to hear her new music as possible. Two of her ultimate 2015 dreams are to perform on an award show and have one of her songs on the charts. Check out Skylar's "Rooftop" music video below.

Taylor Swift is the queen of class, style and sophistication (except when she's playing awesome Cray Tay in her "Blank Space" video). Her hair and makeup are always on point. Want to achieve Tay's Polaroid-ready look? Australian beauty guru and YouTuber Rachelleea (aka Rachel) made a tutorial video on how you can get that red lip, classic thing that you like just like T-Swift.

Taylor's makeup look is all about the flawless skin, winged black eye liner and bold led lips. Rachel used MAC Prolong Wear Concealer in NW15 to help create Tay's camera-ready look and Belletto Studio Gel Eyeliner for those dramatic wings. She also used Revlon Colorstay Lip Liner in Red and Rimmel Kate 111 Kiss of Life Lipstick to achieve her Swifty red lips.

Taylor is all about the cherry lips and crystal skies, so nailing the red lip is essential to this look. Rachel achieved her Swift-worthy red lips by using lip liner before applying lipstick, plus taking time to touch up the edges with concealer. Check out this T-Swift lookalike's step-by-step video below.

Mat Kearney Draws Inspiration from Kanye, Loves Taylor Swift

Fifth Annual Guild Of Music Supervisors AwardsMat Kearney just released his new album Just Kids and is getting ready to embark on his biggest headlining tour, yet. As Mat says, his music is kind of in the singer-songwriter genre, kind of a hip hop and even a little rock. He also incorporates spoken word.

Mat's fans also aren't easily defined. He says they range from just kids to older adults, making it challenging to know who to market his music to. However, what makes him different makes him special. Plus, Taylor Swift is even a fan. According to Mat, she's been to his shows and even mentioned him in a New York Times article once.

We talked to Mat about creating an album that, "Paul Simon and Kanye West would make together," his upcoming tour and doing what we all do; singing along to "Blank Space" by T-Swift.

Cambio: What's your favorite track on the new album?
Mat: I really love the title track "Just Kids," because I feel like it kind of encapsulates a lot of the genres and styles that make me unique that I'm blending and I produced it. I also really like "One Black Sheep." I feel like the Paul Simon influences really come through in that song. It's just fun to play.

Cambio: What's one of your favorite cities to play in?
Mat: Boston's always been cool just because there's so much young concert energy there, like a lot of college kids. I'm playing my hometown in Nashville and I sold out The Ryman for the first which is a really special venue for me there, so that's an accomplishment I've wanted to do my whole career and we finally did it, so Nashville is on that list, too.

Cambio: What's a goal you haven't accomplished, yet?
Mat: This Just Kids Tour we're playing some rooms that I've always dreamed of playing and I was nervous because you don't want to play a room and have it be half full, like The Wiltern, some of these rooms I've always wanted to play and we're like, "Let's go for it," and we put them up on sale and they're all doing amazing and it looks like most of the tour is going to sell out. I would say that was a massive goal. I guess I'm in the middle of realizing the goal.

Cambio: What was it like filming your "Heartbeat" video with a drone?
Mat: That was a lot of fun! I selfishly just wanted to make a video with a drone and so I had this idea to do a one take video with a drone and he was like how about if we do 90s grease background dancers and I said that sounds like a lot of fun, something I've never done before and we had a blast shooting it in L.A.

Cambio: What's a story someone has told you about how there music has affected them that's stuck with you?
Mat: Just yesterday in L.A., I bumped back into a woman who her husband died the day my City of Black and White album came out and that song "Closer to Love" talks about getting that phone call that brings you to your knees. She listened to it that day and it was kinda like her way to get through it. And she brought her whole family out and we hung out and had a moment of them just sharing what that song meant to them in the middle of that thing they were going through. Those moments you're really like, "Wow, this is bigger than me and it's such a special job that I get to do."

Cambio: What advice would you give to young, struggling musicians who feel beat down or like there efforts aren't getting them where they want to go quickly enough?
Mat: I would say you've gotta find the songs that only you can write and that you bleed. I think if you start imitating other people or you try to chase something...is usually when no one cares about it, but when you find those kind of songs and the subject matters that are very you and that only you could have written that song, those tend to be the moments that people connect with.

Cambio: What's your favorite song to listen to right now?
Mat: Definitely Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" and its like the most played song in America, but for some reason I have to turn it up all 14 times I hear it a day.

Cambio: Do you sing along?
Mat: Oh yeah. t got to the point where my wife is like, "Babe, stop singing that song," because it's literally stuck in my head like a worm that won't go away. That beat is just awesome. I feel like that's kind of what I would do, with the hip hop beats. She's coming a little close to my territory. Maybe Tay needs to back off a little bit.

Get Mat's new album Just Kids on iTunes and see Mat on his upcoming tour.

All the Deets on Drake Bell and Miranda Cosgrove's New Movie 'A Mouse Tale'

GBK 2015 Pre-Oscar Awards Luxury Gift Lounge - Day 2Drake Bell is back in a brand new animated movie with his Drake & Josh costar Miranda Cosgrove called A Mouse Tale. We talked to Cambio Guest Editor Drake and the writer/director of the English version of A Mouse Tale, Mychal Simka all about the film, why it's not your typical fairytale and the reason Drake and Miranda's fans will love it.

Cambio: Drake, you have a long history of working with Miranda. What was it like working with her on a project again?
Drake: Miranda played Megan, my little sister on Drake & Josh, but in A Mouse Tale she is the leader and the one bossing me around. So it was a little bit of a fun change!

Cambio: What's your favorite classic fairytale?
Drake: Peter Pan.

Cambio: What's the message or moral of this story?
Mychal: The message of the story is twofold for me. The first is about the nature of love and what it means. Sebastian is in love with the princess, but he doesn't even know who she is. She's just a dream. He believes in that. But he doesn't believe in himself even though he really wants to become a wizard. Sam, the girl mouse, believes in him because he's her best friend, and she tries to get him to believe in himself and forget about the princess. Sam turns out to be the princess in the end so the message is about where your heart should be and where your dreams should be. In other words, sometimes we wish for something that's right in front of us - love. And if we waste time wishing for something we already have, then we hardly have time to believe in ourselves and believing in ourselves is what allows us to do great things, like becoming a wizard. In the end, Sebastian finds love and the fulfillment of his dream to become a wizard. Without Sam, neither of those things would have happened.
Cambio: Why do you think people should see this movie?
Mychal: A Mouse Tale is one of my favorite projects. It took a lot of work, a few months in fact, to construct a story with all elements of fairies, mice, green cats, giants, rock monsters, etc. The dialog was refined more than in any of my other films. It's not the funniest or most action-packed of my films, but it is the deepest and most meaningful of the bunch. Not to mention the performances - Miranda and Drake are so darn cute as these little mice, Cary Elwes as the gallant knight mouse (a nod to Princess Bride) is one of my fav's, Gregg Sulkin, Dallas Lovato and The Heirs all have smaller but highly memorable parts. As I said, this has been my favorite movie making experience so far.

Cambio: How is A Mouse Tale different from other fairy tales we've seen before?
Mychal: It's more than just a princess story cartoon or a typical animated feature with talking animals. It's actually more of an epic journey film. Very different from other much higher budget animated films. I see it as something like Lord of the Rings with mice instead of hobbits. The journey and goals are serious. The enemies are actually life-threateningly dangerous. So the meaning is much deeper in the end. It's not a laugh a minute film like my previous films Birds Of Paradise or Wings, but it wasn't intended to be. Having said that, I think there are some pretty good jokes in this one especially for fans of Drake and Miranda's earlier TV shows (there are a few nods to iCarly, Drake & Josh and even The Amanda Show which the fans will get a kick out of).

Cambio: Drake, any update on your wrist injury?
Drake: I broke my wrist back in November, and I'm still trying to get motion back. It affected my guitar playing, but I'm working on it!
